Hunter Dyal - Resident in Counseling

*Located in Hampton and Virtually*

Hunter (He/Him) graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and later earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling for Military and Veterans from William & Mary. He is currently a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia.

Hunter works with clients ages 10 and up and is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults through a variety of life challenges. Much of his experience involves working with individuals who have had interactions with the legal system. He is also passionate about working with military service members and their families, drawing from his personal connection to the military community through his parents’ service.

Hunter primarily works from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lens while also incorporating a psychodynamic approach. He believes that childhood experiences can shape current perceptions, relationships, and interactions, and he strives to help clients better understand these patterns while developing healthier ways of coping and connecting.

Outside of counseling, Hunter enjoys playing video games, cooking, spending time with loved ones and pets, and building LEGO sets.
